Paintings by Eddy Hardy are autobiographical in nature & deal with disability issues, as does
some of the work by the deaf artist Jimmy Craw (both of whom were represented in the "Defiance"
touring exhibition, on show in Germany).

Elizabeth Anne Maxwell Hill, a Scotish artist, works with thick oil paint & uses tortured,
starving & imprisoned people & animals as subject matter.

John Galloway & Gabrielle Wheeler both live in the Isle of White, their work depicts the
buildings, scenes & people around them.

Anna Sullivan paints the people that she loves, the landscapes that sge cannot go to again &
the sea that gives her peace & inspiration.

Several Autistic artists have work in the show. David Braunsberg is a textile artist shows
abstract woven tapestries. There are wall hangings by clients of the Jigsaw Centre and
paintings by Chris Buckle.

The beautiful and moving film film "Many scars, Multiple Scierosis - A tale of relapse &
remission", by Sophie Outram, first screened on UK Channel Four is also in the show.

Jan Marshall is an instalation artist, based in Carlisle, who creates spaces made up of natural
objects that involve the viewer in a moving and memorable experience.

Overal the work reflects a variety of approaches to contemporary visual art. It is full of
aesthetically beautiful work of a high artistic quality, as well as being both challenging and
throught-provoking.
