Subject: Bar Code Problem
I haven't worked with Style Builder for a long while. The other day,
though, I thought it might be interesting to try making some new
lines. This time I thought I would print out the template, draw my
lines by hand on the paper, scan the thing and run it back into Style
Builder The problem is I couldn't get the bar code to scan properly.
Or at least I couldn't get Style Builder to read it from the imported
PNG or BMP file. I got an error message asking if I had modified it.

So what does that bar code do exactly? Any suggestions for getting
around this? Does it have anything to do with the file name? I saved
the scanned image with a different file name so as not to overwrite
the blank template.

I tried copying the bar code from the original template to the scanned
version but that didn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Dave R

Hi Dave

The bar code tells Style builder where to look for strokes when you
import the template.  If it gets fuzzy or somehow corrupted when you
scan it in, Style Builder will not be able to find your strokes
correctly.

Try this: Individually cut and paste your scanned strokes into a clean
template using a program like photoshop.

Hope this helps

Thanks Bryce. I was hoping to avoid the cut and paste step. I guess I
need to make my strokes on a blank piece of paper, huh? Seems the box
around the stroke gets read too.

Well, I'll keep playing.

Thanks again. Have a great weekend.

Dave
