Awesome 2nd annual BicyRobo Thailand Championship was held on 8 Feb
2012 in Bangkok racing circuit here in Thailand. Luckily I got chance
to see all the preliminary and final round competition as volunteer.
It was pretty exciting and good experience. It was jointly organized
by Seagate Technology (Thailand) Ltd., Thai Robotics Society, and the
Mechatronics Program, School of Engineering and Technology, AIT. It
was open invitation for everyone around the world to join for the
competition by Dr. Manukid Parnichkun Chairman of Organizing Committee
here in this group as well on 20 July 2011 (

were 15 universities from Thailand took part. The first prize cash
award was Baht 150,000 (around US$ 5,000). The second prize cash award
is Baht 100,000 (around US$ 3,333), excellent technique and excellent
creativity awards are Baht 50,000 each (around US$ 1,667).
Various design, sensors and actuators, control algorithm was used to
control and balance the robots. Mainly Single Gyro, Double Gyro and
Steering control mechanism was used by the competitors.
The “MECHA BIKE” Team of AIT students Rewat Bunchan, M.Eng., and
Surachat Chantarachit, D.Eng., from the Mechatronics field of study,
School of Engineering and Technology (SET), captured first- prize. You

Technology North Bangkok
