Does anyone know who these people are advertising on radio and TV offering to help you with your student loan problems, get you payments of $75 a month or less, etc? Who are these people and what are they up to?

Direct Loans approved me for Pay as You Earn (PAYE) but they later took me off the plan and put me back on the IRB. I wrote the omnibus man with a complaint. She called and said someone in the department had made a mistake putting me on the PAYE plan and that did not entitle me to stick with PAYE. I asked for further clarification in writing by snail mail. I have not received an apology. Now I have lost trust in Direct Loan promises. Do I have any recourse?

This is news to me. Should probably check out the source. The law might not have changed; although the DOE may have changed its regulations. Still, I haven’t heard anything about this.

Is there anyone still out there, on this list?  If so, has anyone seen
    this webpage?:

I am particularly wondering about Section 2 of that page---"Social
Security Administration Determination".  According to this, it is now
possible to use an SSD printout, to get loans discharged---which
wasn't possible, just a couple years ago.  Is this for real?  When did
the law change?  I have been lied-to, countless times, by the D of E.
It has been a 15 year fight, ever since the D of E "lost:" my first
disability claim (I have now been classified as "disabled", by the
    SSA, for over 20 years).

     Thanks.

     Hi Logan,

I for one am still here. I'd like to think most others from the group suddenly became wealthy and their SL woes are a thing of the past. I'd hate to think people are despairing over this as I am still. Sorry I haven't heard about this SSD option. I hope it is something that will help you.

I am still here, too. Not sure about the printout but we are all still
    getting screwed. Just keep trying.
