Subject: Last chance to sign up for the 4S Mentorship Program
Registration for the 4S Mentorship Program will close tomorrow, August
6th.  If you're going to the 4S Conference in Tokyo, sign up now!  See
all the details below.

WHAT: The 4S-sponsored Mentorship Program is entering its 5th year!
The Mentorship Program is designed to match junior scholars with more
senior scholars as a way of creating ties across regions and levels of
experience.

HOW: Simply click on the link http://4sonline.org/students/mentorform
and fill out the form. You will be asked whether you wish to
participate as a mentor, a mentee, or both. If you have attended an
STS conference in the past, considering volunteering to serve as a
mentor for a 4S newcomer.

WHEN: Time commitments for this program are minimal. Mentors and
mentees are informed of their "match" two weeks before the conference
and are encouraged to meet at least once during the conference
(perhaps at the reception on the first night of the conference) with
the possibility of maintaining contact throughout the academic year.

When you are notified of your match, you will also be emailed a
"Questions and Discussions" guide to serve as an optional tool for
structuring initial conversation with your mentor or mentee.

Please forward this message to your colleagues, especially your PhD
advisors or other faculty at your institution who will be attending
the 4S conference. Encourage them to sign up and serve as a mentor for
someone from a different institution!
