[structure-group] no results

I'm trying to run STRUCTURE to analyze 172 individuals with 96 SNP
markers and all seems to be going well but at the end of the Batch run
the results file is empty and there is no summary. I can do
individual runs (single K value) with no problem. There is a note on
the output that says the results file can't be opened. Any
suggestions. I'm running the newest version of the program.

Hi,

I am having the same issue in the newest version of structure, and
have been having this problem for the last month or so (for many
different projects of 12-16 microsats with 200-500 individuals). When
I go back to old versions, I still have the problem. I haven't
figured out how to solve the problem, but I reload the data and start
different runs multiple times (usually over the course of a day or
two) and at some point it miraculously saves the results and displays
a simulation summary. Then as long as I don't close the program,
every project I run after this point works as well. However, if I
close the program, the next time I open it, the results are again not
saved. If anyone has any suggestions how to solve this (or tips for
closing and opening the program in a certain succession that gets it
to work, as in the batch runs) I'd really appreciate it.

Yeah, I am having many of the same issues with the latest version. I
will run the program, everything looks fine, but the results file is
completely empty. I have recently gone back to version 2.2, and it
seems to be running fine since I am at least getting a results file
and I can view the simulation summary. I too would be grateful to any
tips or advice.

Are you tried to run the program with administrative rights?
It's probably the exe's have not permission to write in the results
file

Hi,

I tried running with administrative rights, which did not work. I
then uninstalled Structure and reinstalled it (I had two versions on
my computer, got rid of both, reinstalled only 2.3.3). Opened my
previous project that wasn't saving results and it still did not
work. Then, I created a new project in the reinstalled software,
tried running it, it did the hang on the first try to run. So, I
closed the program, reopened it and then the program ran. Then it
saved results! This is probably just luck that this worked, so we'll
see if the next time it works the same. I'd like to see if this works
for anyone else.
