Hellow dear SWMMers,

Yesterday a new release of the Spanish translation of SWMM 5 was published
at www.swmm.upv.es

This translation corresponds with the EPA release SWMM 5.0.016. I am afraid
I haven't got time to incorporate latest updates made by Lewis Rossman, but
I am working now on them.

I hope this translation is useful for all Spanish-speaking SWMM users.

Ayer fue publicada una nueva versión de la traducción de SWMM 5 al español
en la dirección www.swmm.upv.es

Esta traducción se corresponde con la versión SWMM 5.0.016 de la US EPA. Me
temo que no he tenido tiempo aún de incorporar las últimas actualizaciones
realizadas por Lewis Rossman, pero ya estoy trabajando en ello.

Espero que esta traducción resulte de utilidad a todos los usuarios
hispanoparlantes de SWMM.

Asunto: [SWMM-USERS] SWMM 5.0.017 Now Available

A new update, release 5.0.017, of SWMM 5 is now available from
www.epa.gov/ednnrmrl/models/swmm.

This update:
- Corrects the large continuity errors that were resulting from using
the Ponding option under dynamic wave flow routing.
- Contains a modified water quality routing routine that appears to be
more dependable than the original routine used in SWMM 4.
- Changes the time step used to convolute RDII unit hydrographs against
the rainfall record. Instead of using the rainfall recording interval,
we now use the smaller of the wet runoff time step and the time to peak
of the shortest unit hydrograph in a UH group.
- Changes the recently added Error 112 (conduit elevation drop exceeds
its length) to a warning condition.

One new feature was added, namely a user-editable Dry Weather Flow
concentration for pollutant objects. This eliminates the need to edit
this value for each node that receives DWF inflow (as long as the global
default value still applies).

Also note that beginning with this update, the distribution files have
the version number embedded in their names.

Subject: Suggestion regarding backdrop images

Hellow dear SWMMers,

I am actually working with Web Map Server and GIS systems. I have observed
that the temporary file used in the external tools menu doesn't include
information about coordinates (neither nodes nor backdrop). I think it could
be useful to include at least the dimensions and units of the backdrop file
in order to download ortoimages from Web Map Servers and attached them to
SWMM project. It is not very difficult for me to modify the source code to
include this change, but my idea is to publish this tool as a part of the
Spanish translation of SWMM.
