Berkeley Missouri, employed by Boeing, making meth, yep - he's
black and a union worker.
BERKELEY A drug task force seized suspected meth-making
chemicals from a building at Boeing and arrested a Boeing
employee Wednesday, police said.
Berkeley Police Chief Frank McCall Jr. said the Boeing employee
was taken into custody at Airport Circle and is expected to be
charged sometime Thursday. Chemicals used to make meth were
seized by the St. Charles County Drug Task Force, which assisted
with the investigation.
Boeing Fire Department responded to building after an alarm went
off and discovered chemicals that they believed to be
suspicious, according to the company. That department notified
Berkeley police about 6 a.m.
McCall said the area where the chemicals were discovered was
secured and other police agencies were notified for assistance,
including the St. Charles County Drug Task Force. He said agents
with the St. Charles County Drug Task force surveyed items and
chemicals in containers and took possession.
"We do believe it possibly was meth chemicals," McCall said. He
also said he did not believe the chemicals were being used on
the site as a functioning lab.
The name of the employee is being withheld until he is charged.
Police did not disclose how long he has been an employee at
Boeing or his job description.
Boeing declined to provide details.
"Boeing is cooperating with law enforcement officials as they
continue their investigation," a spokesman said in an email.
"Boeing St. Louis continues normal operations.
