The Mobile Application Architect's role is to plan, design, build, launch, and manage business, information technology, and technology architectures on the mobile platform to meet business goals. This individual will work on cross-functional technical and development teams to address and solve mobile platform business issues. The architect will develop and lead the implementation of mobile technology standards that have an operational and financial impact. He/she will perform governance activities to ensure compliance with mobile standards. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem solving skills to identify, communicate and address opportunities related to mobile application development in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
-Lead the planning, design, build, and deployment of new mobile platform and applications
-Develop and manage the roadmap for Mobile application development and deployment
-Analyze alignment of business processes, systems, and technologies to business goals in mobile area
-Perform architectural review of project proposals in mobile area
-Conduct research on emerging mobile development tools, products, languages, and standards
-Develop and manage process for effectively and efficiently deploying mobile applications
-Develop and evangelize architecture patterns for mobile applications
-stay informed of latest industry and technical developments and provide recommendation for new hardware and software purchases
Project Activities:
-Oversee project design phases
-Guide project teams through the deployment process
-Troubleshoot deployment issues
Operational Activities:
-Perform root cause analysis for application outages and incidents
-Maintain and manage web server and application server configurations
-Maintain tools used to build and manage mobile applications and components
Position Requirements:
Formal Education and Certifications:
-College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, or management information systems and 5-7 years related work experience
Knowledge and Experience:
-Proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, systems, or products
-Understands the key design components of enterprise applications
-3+ years in mobile development, developing 1 or more native applications
-Solid knowledge of the Android OS including Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean
-iOS development using Objective-C, Apple iOS System Design and Implementation
-Strong experience detecting and correcting memory usage issues, and optimizing code for application performance
-Experience with Webkit, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
-Experience with SQL Lite and offline device data storage techniques
-Experience with device / server communications via JSON, XML and / or HTML via REST / Web Services
-Knowledge of Java (J2SE/J2EE), Java Server Pagers (JSP) is preferred
-Knowledge of JQuery Mobile or PhoneGap a plus
-Knowledge of XML/XSLT, PL/SQL for Oracle and/or SQL Server a Plus
