Many people have told me they're avoiding this film because they don't want to witness the horrific slaughter of wild dolphins. I don't blame them; but the point is that this is a true story about a brutal practice, and the more of us that understand how dolphins are treated in the world and how they become slaves for huge profit-making dolphinariums, the sooner we will be able to halt the practice. It's an important film to see, and it's not filled with massacre scenes that will make you cry. It is the story of former Flipper trainer Ric O'Barry's tireless, decades-long fight against our exploitation of dolphins. The Cove and O'Barry's work have resulted in many successes in the fight to free dolphins. I've seen the film, I know Ric and I've followed his work for years. I recommend that everyone learn about this work and join the dolphin protection brigade!
