You are probably aware that the consent agreement for the Koppers Cleanup was filed with the court and there will be a 30 day comment period.
EPA will hold a public meeting on Feb 27th from 6-8 PM to take comments and answer questions.
It will be at Stephen Foster Elementary School at 3800 NW 6th Street, 32609
I am hoping there is a significant showing of people from the community - that has had a great impact on the view of EPA and Beazer of the level of concern.
I am currently reviewing the agreement and attachments. The Record of Decision is an attachment to the agreement, and basically outlines what will be remediated. So any comments/concerns on the proposed remedy that people had previously, may still be issues to raise. The document also focuses on the schedule, work plans, that Beazer will pay and reimburse EPA, etc.
As part of my commitment to provide information, I will continue to work on the documents, what is done at other sites, if this deviates from typical agreements, etc ….I am not developing "positions" simply fact finding.
I will be at the CIED from 4 to probably ~7:30 on Monday Feb 25th. Will have copies of some sections, prepare to highlight some of the issues, and generally just have an open discussion with anyone interested. - It is "Open" - drop in and leave any time.
You can download and review documents on your own. They will be on CDs at the library and are posted at the county website
I would be interested in any questions/ observations/ issues you identify and would be happy to discuss at any time.
The CIED center is:
