I won this hoya a bit over a year ago on Ebay. It arrived as a small
rooted plant consisting of about 3 nodes. Today it's managed to at least
double in size so we're now up to about 6 nodes. WOW!!!! Can you tell
that it's a fast grower??? NOT!!! Aside from hoya hypolasia, flat stem
is probably the slowest growing hoya that I have in my entire
collection. I find it fairly easy to grow,it doesn't require any special
care. It's just that if you grow it,don't expect to be bragging to
anyone anytime soon that you have a large plant, unless you by chance
started out with one!!!

My plant came into bloom for the very first time today. I wasn't able to
detect any fragrance but I read that it was only fragrant after dark so
maybe i'll just have to go outside in a little while and see!!!

This has rapidly become a much sought after plant and the same seller I
got this one from currently has a cutting listed on Ebay if anyone's
interested!!! I have a waiting list at least a dozen names long for
starts of my plant.but at the rate that this thing grows,it'll be quite
sometime before that list is fulfilled!!!

Oh, man, David, that plant looks totally out of control and about to eat your gh. My recommendation is to cut that sucker up immediately and just throw those useless remnants of Flat Stem in a box addressed to me! (:o) The fate of your gh lies in the balance. (well, it was worth a try, anyway!)

How long are the leaves? I would guess about 6", but since there isn't anything to compare them to, it's hard to guess. It looks like the plant will take up some room with its arching stems, but based on your description of its growth rate, that probably won't be a problem.
Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike, at least you can't say you didn't try!!!!

I went out and smelled the flowers and they have a very mild lemony
citrus fragrance. Very pleasing and not overpowering like some hoyas
can be.

I wasn't able to measure the leaves but my guess is that they are
somewhere around 6" like you said.Possibly a little longer.
