Steel closing on page load.

I'm having an issue with steel closing 1/3 of the the way thru loading
web pages. It shows that it has downloaded 1/3 of the page and then it
drops me to the home screen. This doesn't happen every time but does
seem to happen with wider pages that are being loaded with the one
column setting in effect.

I'm getting this problem a LOT! See the problem description below.
Recently, I'm getting this one a lot.

I have restarted G1, opened Steel browser and selected Help from menu.
It started to load, showed title "Steel - Instructions" and a second
after that crashed. Reproducible crash. I have just uploaded a log
from my G1 immed. after the crash. Pls let me know if you can fix it.

me, too here, tried a lot of methods, clear cache, reinstall steel,
etc, but none of them works, the crash problem is just appearing very
recently, don't know what updates bring steel down or whatever
reasons.

OK, I couldn't reproduce this on my phone. I looked at the log, and it
looks like a crash in the webkit engine, not Steel itself.

I will keep investigating, but in the meantime, it would be helpful if
everyone with that problem could post their phone and OS version.

does the system default browser use the same webkit engine as steel?
it hadn't been affected, really weird issue.

I am using samsung galaxy with android 1.5, baseband version I7500XXII5.

it only happens when you have layout algorithm set to single colum.

Thanks psywiped, I guess that layout algorithm is deprecated going
forward, when the double tap to zoom (2.0) shows up.
So, the workaround for now is, don't use the single column layout
algorithm.
