First, great browser...great interface, fun to use...I few complaints
that are making me think about switching back to the original
browser...
1. Force closes all the time when switching windows.
2. Want more bookmark organization
3. It is 37mb large!!!! That is way too big for a browser and any
application on a phone with very limited space.

If anyone has any fixes I would love to hear about them...thank you!

RC,

not sure about the force closing when switching windows, it doesn't
happen to mine.

I'm working on bookmark organization, it will be another few weeks, as
I have to rush out a release for cupcake first, thanks to Google and T-
Mo.
Yes, 37M is too large. Go to the home screen. Start Steel. Go to
settings, and press the "clear cache" and "clear history" buttons.
Don't leave the browser yet. Wait about a minute. Now press the back
button several times until you get the exit dialog. Exit the app. Use
some other app for like 2 minutes, ideally something that consumes
lots of resources, like maps. After a while, Android will finally make
the decision to kill Steel.

Now you can go and check in Settings->Application Management to see if
the size of Steel has come down.

The next release will fix the clear cache on exit bug, so you can have
Steel not use as much memory.

I would prefer google bookmark integration over your own bookmark
system.

Me too, but google's bookmark api is not officially supported.
Also, non-google apps are considered second class citizens and can't
use the google login service on the phone, so they have to present
their own login and store the credentials, which is annoying.

Let's get the bookmarks organized a little better first, then do the
sync with google.

I have my own login code and can get to the feeds, it's just a matter
of parsing the info.
With bug fixes, and people asking for cupcakes, it will be a little
while.

Is there anyway you can integrate this webkit port of adblock plus
directly into steel?

That there would be the most compelling reason for most people to
switch to steel from the default browser.

If you have root access, a simple solution is AdFree (from the market)
or manually edit /system/etc/hosts as shown in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509997
This removes ads for all apps, not just Steel.

also, i use google reader through steel the most...half of this
problem is google readers fault, but steel refreshes a website once i
come back after switching to a different page. which means if i am
135 items down in reader i go back to the start and have to click
'load more items' multiple times. any way we can fix this?

not to steer you away from Steel but I have found Greed is EXCELLENT
it is a google reader client and the full version is 99 cents. If you
don't want offline mode download the free version. Also, I have only
taken a quick look at it but NewsRob is another pretty nice google
reader client that is 100% free. Cheers.
