My G1 was down to 7 MB free and Steel was using 22 MB. Clearing the
cache, history, cookies, and passwords didn't help. I had no choice
but to uninstall and reinstall the app. Is this normal and expected,
or is there some kind of memory leak here? Thanks.
all the clearing doesn't take immediate effect, you'll have to wait
for a while (that's an Android thing, nothing to do with me) and you
would have seen it go down to about 700-800k. It's your browsing that
fills up cache, history and cookie data. You're the memory leak. If
you want only one browser, clear the data for the other. Unfortunately
they can't share data.

I think this is what I was inquiring about not long ago. Before the last
update, I believe, whenever I cleared the data, the amount of space Steel
took up on my device was always reduced to that 700-800kb you speak of. Now,
no matter what, it remains at 3MB. Does that sound about right or do you
thinnk perhaps the data isn't really clearing? Under the applications menu
on the device, it says the data takes up 2MB of space. I've even tried
deleting bookmarks and still no change (I only had 5 and now there are 2)

Hmm,
not sure what's going on, mine is also not getting below 2MB, although
I checked only recently and it did. Maybe something to do with the
RC33 update I got 2 days ago.
