So Steamcon is days away. Excitement is at a fevered pitch. The crew
still has a lot of work to do, but much work has already been done.
We have a schedule of events but as most of you should know by now, if
a butterfly flaps it’s wings in Shanghai, a panel or panelist just
might disappear. There’s no such thing as a perfectly fixed schedule,
but we did our best. You can find it here:
http://www.steam-con.com/faq/STEAMCON_PROGRAMMING_GRID.xhtml

We have in hand the two lovely exclusive items that will be for sale
at the convention; a t-shirt by Paul Guinan and a copper tone Steamcon
logo pin. Follow the links below for images:

The “Airship Invasion” concert is very close to being sold out.
Regrettably, there will probably not be any tickets available at the
door.

Full weekend memberships ($45.00) are down to a relatively small
number and sales will begin Friday at 12:00 P. M. at the convention.
We will also be selling Friday only passes ($25.00) When we reach our
capacity number, sales of both types will have to cease. On Saturday
beginning at 10:00 A.M., we will be able to sell an extremely small
number of Saturday only passes ($25.00) and the same applies on
Sunday. If you have a question about registration or are unable to
attend, you must email regist...@steam-con.com before 5:00 P.M. PST
today.

For those of you arriving on Thursday, we will be hosting a small meet
and greet entitled “The Landing Party”. We are unsure of the actual
time and place but we will put up signs and expect it to begin around
8:00 or 9:00 P.M.. Join us for a game of cards or just pleasant
conversation.

On Sunday evening, we will be hosting “The Wake” a small gathering for
those diehards who have yet to begin the journey home. Again, we
will not know the exact time and place until the day arrives, but we
will post signs and pass the word as soon as we know the
particulars.

I am very excited to see all of you at Steamcon this weekend. We have
worked extremely hard over the past year and a half, and I hope that
the results will reflect that.

Your humble hostess,

Diana Vick

Hello!

It seems I cannot open this version to peruse the offerings therein.
Might a copy in another format be available for we poor, benighted
souls?

Or you can go to the FAQ and click on the link at the end of question

I did try that, but alas! I seem doomed, doomed, I say! To be forced to WAIT until *gasp* Friday . Whatever shall I do?

*swoon*

*catches self on way to floor*

Unless . . . The schedule will be available to pick up on Thursday evening?

I have no idea why it's not working for anyone else other than the
fact that I have a zillion other things I should be doing and
therefore it wants attention. I've asked for help and I'll get it
fixed soon. And yes, I will make sure that there are copies of the
schedule available on Thursday night as well at the "Landing Party".

The link at the end of question #4 doesn't work, either

It works fine here (using firefox). What error is it giving y'all? As
an xhtml file it should open in your browser. (Which browser are you using?)

My thanks for your quick attention, despite the whirlwind I am sure you
find yourself in. Remember: BREATH!

Might be your browsers. It works beautifully in Firefox. In IE 7, I was able to save or open the file easily.
If you're using Chrome, IE 8 or other flavor including phone browsers, that is probably your issue with
the file. If folks really really really have to see it today versus waiting until tomorrow at the Con, I'd
recommend using Firefox to view the schedule. I imagine our Con staff is pulling out their hairs making
sure everything is ready for us tomorrow.

I imagine that's it. I'll just wait (im)patiently then. My thanks for your quick response!

Saved the file for offline use. Here is what I saved. Hopefully it will work for people.

I am using internet explorer. For some reason, the original that I tried
defaulted to some other program, and now they all do. I'll just have to
wait, I guess. Oh, well.

Thanks for trying!

Seems not. Apparently, the original defaulted to a program I don't have on this computer, and now any form of said program tries to open in the wrong program on this computer.

*insert ladylike cursing*

I'll just have to be patient . . .

. . .  Is it Thursday evening yet?

Just Copy and Paste the link directly into Internet Explorer. It sounds like you have another program setup to view xhtml files is all.
