Info and Guidelines

The STC Israel Discussion Group is a private email forum intended for members of STC Israel and others interested in the activities of STC Israel. This service is here to provide information about STC Israel activities to our members and all professionals in the Israeli Technical Communication community. Topics for discussion include all issues related to the STC, STC Israel, and Technical Communication in Israel (tips, work-arounds, best practices, etc).

The list is restricted. This means that the moderators must approve all new members.

To best enjoy this service, I suggest that you select using the Beta version of Google Groups. You will recognize viewing the Beta version when you see our dark blue format."

In order to keep the list running smoothly, we have defined a few guidelines that you must follow in order to use this service.

Questions are welcome. However, do not use the list as a substitute for easily available reference books. As messages get old, they will appear in the archives that are found in the About this group page, accessed in the menu on the right. They are organized by months.
Job postings are always welcome and are not restricted.
If you see an article of professional interest, feel free to post the URL. Do not post the article itself.
In the initial period, no commercial entity or other non-profit group postings are allowed. No official postings of any groups, discussion groups, or listservs are allowed. You may refer to issues discussed in any of these other frameworks, but not by publicizing or advertising for them.
Resellers or developers (and others affiliated in any way with a reseller or a commercial product) must identify themselves as such when suggesting their products in response to a question.
Do not send test messages and do not post virus warnings under any circumstances. Please make sure that you have an updated antivirus application on your system before using this service.
Do not forward cute, humorous, political, or otherwise off-topic posts to the list.
When replying, keep a decent level of respectability, integrity, and mutuality in your message. In your reply to something that you have read on the pages of this group, please address the ideas, not the persons. Please also maintain this standard in offline replies and discussions of topics presented herein.
Do not address the spelling or grammar that others use in messages to this group.

STC Israel is a voluntary, officially registered non-profit organization. No one receives any remuneration for running this service. We cannot personally reply to every message.

Sometimes there is a delay between the posting of a message and its approval. Sometimes the servers go offline without warning. Sometimes the message has insufficient voltage and dies somewhere in the ether. We have no control over this. We are not responsible for messages not received. We take no responsibility for losses or damage suffered by any technical or human failure.

If you contact the moderators via any other email address, your request might not be read. Do not telephone the moderators.

All users: please take note that the system will stop sending you email after a number of repeated bounces.

We reserve the right to reject or delete any post that, in the opinion of the moderators, is not in keeping with the nature of the list. We also reserve the right to moderate, ban, or otherwise restrict a member of the group for any violations of the terms of service or the list guidelines.
