Subject: Carriage for sale
From the classifieds: Staver for sale in central California. I do see
carriages for sale periodically, but I've never seen one up close. If
it's got a Staver Carriage plaque, that should mean it was built
sometime after about 1899. I realize I don't know exactly when Staver
Carriage was incorporated; Staver & Abbott dissolved in 1896, and the
first references to Staver Carriage in my files are from 1899. Most
likely the carriage in the classifieds is from the 20th century.
