After thinking about it more, I feel that it is very important to our party to run a candidate for the Congressional race, as much as any other seat.  The issues we talk about the most, our the ones that deal with the Federal Government; from our sound money principles, to the 10th Amendment, to our commitment to the 2nd Amendment, and really anything that has to do with the US Constitution.

While I know it is the biggest undertaking, it is the most high profile race in Staten Island and I think we can't afford to sit this one out on the sidelines.  I also think it is the area of government that we understand what the functions of the job are.  Running a committed candidate in the Congressional race will help us in the long term as a party in that we will at least have a candidate on the ballot in every ballot in Staten Island and a portion of Brooklyn.

I (a bit reluctantly) agree.

Anybody know offhand what the deadline is to declare?
