Hey folks,

So the startup school powers-that-be have organized an event for friday
night. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it as I've got a day job
and need to fly in that night. I have a hunch that the majority of
folks will be in the same boat and would be up for a similar event
Saturday night after the day's activities.

Am I wrong? Any thoughts on a good venue? I've contacted a few of my
friends in SF for suggestions and will report back when I hear.

Cheers,
Brandon

Where's the event on Friday night? Other than the acceptance email I
haven't heard a anything else.

Yep Brandon, right on. I'm not flying back 'till Sunday morning for
that same reason.

No idea of venues, sorry, I've never been to Stanford before...

Hi Brandon,

Haven't heard anything about Friday night. I wouldn't be able to make it
anyway.

Downtown Palo Alto and University Avenue is a short drive away from
Stanford and has lots of eating/drinking places -- although on a
Saturday night, odds are they'll be pretty packed (and noisy).

Depending on the number of people who want to go... here are a few options:

- Gordon Biersch: Brewpub. Gets pretty crowded, but OK if you get there
early.
- MacArthur Park: American cuisine. Slightly fancy. Might need reservations.
- Miyake: Sushi bar.
- Empire Tap Room: Slightly fancy, but with a good bar and nice outdoor
seating.
- Buca di Beppo: Italian family-style. HUGE portions.

I'll be down from Berkeley myself but I'm up for sticking around for a
while afterward on Saturday.

I haven't heard anything about Friday either and a quick look around
the startupschool website and wiki didn't turn up anything. What's your
source for this?

I might be interested in doing something Saturday too if I don't run
out of cash first.

The Friday night before the Boston Startup School, there was a mixer
for a selected group of people. Many of the speakers along with other
tech geeks were in attendance. I'm not sure what the criteria were for
being selected, but I believe only a few dozen people (maybe 50?) were
invited. I don't know for sure because I wasn't invited.

If you didn't get that notification, you weren't invited. Just
remember that one of the major points of Startup School is to meet up
with other smart people. ;)
