Hey folks -- especially the new folks who aren't from CA,

Since it doesn't rain around here for half the year, the roads build up
petroleum products during that time (tar, oil, condensed exhaust products,
etc). The first rain always results in super-slick roads, as this grime is
slowly washed off. So be careful out there if you are riding! Just coming in
to work, I had my rear wheel spin on two difference cross-walk paint
stripes.
