I have received this from our local council in my capacity as chair of the Harpenden Fairtrade Town Steering Group but it looks as if it offers funding in particular for environment projects.

The closing date for applications is very soon – 23rd December but please do circulate to anyone who might be  interested.

Best wishes

Sue

Subject: Targeting Change Fund

Dear All

I hope this email finds you well.

I thought you may be interested in this possible funding opportunity - Targeting Change Fund - which I attach details. The fund allows voluntary groups, local charities and community groups to bid for funds between £2,000 and £10,000.

Bid applications will need to demonstrate clear links to the priorities in the District's Sustainable Community Strategy (http://www.stalbanslsp.org.uk/strategy/default.aspx)
and outcomes which will help address one or more of the following gap areas:-

Priorities

· Ensuring that the District is a great place to be
· Creating a diverse and sustainable economy for the 21st century
· Keeping the District healthy
· Supporting an active community that has pride in itself and cares for its future

Identified Gap Areas

a. Providing accessible facilities and activities for young people
b. Helping to build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector to provide preventative and support services
c. Encouraging and promoting community engagement and participation
d. Promoting sustainable local economic development
e. Meeting the needs of an aging population
f. Reducing our impact on the environment
g. Reducing inequalities

More details can be found at: http://www.stalbanslsp.org.uk/ The closing date is the 23 December 2009.

I attach the guidance notes and the application form for your convenience.

If you do decide to apply it would be great if you could give me details of your project.

Kind regards
Helen Eadon
