Hello,

As I start my project, I have decided to use the SQLCipher libraries for encrypting my data so that it is available while the user is offline.  Remembering from a previous project that Apple asks if the application is using encryption, I was wondering if I need to answer YES for the new application?  My application will only be available in the United States.

Thanks.

Hi Marc,

The answer is definitely yes!

Thanks for the quick response.

Would anyone know of a link or document I can follow to determine next steps.

Any stories that anyone would like to share?

Thank you.

Well it used to be you had to do a CCATS registration thing, a process Stephen documented here:

But have a look at the comments—things have changed, we only need to file for an ERN when it comes to our own apps and SQLCipher, likely the same thing for you as well.

Regards,
Billy

Hi all,
On a side note FYI when I was submitting my app to the app store back about 2 years ago I did select YES to that answer BUT I also select that I was using it to prevent piracy etc. thing and I did NOT do that CCATS thing
