Hi,
Maybe I am missing something here but it seems strange that when I
choose to edit a row, then modify it to create a new row and choose
"Insert as new row", the auto_increment key is not invoked so I get a
duplicate entry for the key value. Could the new row not have it's key
auto_incremented?

A new key will be generated for the row if you erase the text box containing the old key. Otherwise, the old key will be used for the new row.
