Hi Archit,
The problem is this: Canopy comes with a development version of IPython
(1.0dev) whereas Spyder 2.2 is designed to work *only* with the
currently stable one (0.13).
However, our development version (2.3dev) is already able to work with
1.0dev, but you need to use mercurial to download the code and install it.
Sorry for the confuse state of things but I hope things get easier after
IPython 1.0 is released in July.
