It often happens that someone said spring4d is a port of the spring framework in the java field but actually it is not. The name spring was a metaphor of the coming of the Spring season of Delphi, but I admit that it is not a good name.

So if you agree with changing the project name, please say Yes (or No with your points). A candidate name is good if you say Yes.

NOOOOO!

Spring4d is already known widely in the Delphi community and changing the name would cause more confusion and work.

The google code project had to be renamed (and actually you cannot do that with google code). So that would require an export and import into a new project while marking it clearly for users that the project is continued at another place (that is why the DSharp repository is still called delphisorcery – because I created it before I settled for the name DSharp). Also people just connecting with some svn client and getting the new version might miss it.

Units had to be renamed from Spring.XXX to NewName.XXX.

Actually there are some things that look pretty much like you were peeking at spring framework for java, so I would not mind if people say so.

Although we are borrowing decent concepts from many frameworks (personally I like to take ides from C# - guess why I called my library DSharp ^^).

I agree with Stefan -- changing at this point would be really, really difficult.
