  Hello. &lt;br&gt; Recently I met a bug: MS Office 2003 read files, generated with S::WE, &lt;br&gt; and 2007 did not. In fact, MSO2007 read them, but after &amp;quot;restoring&amp;quot;, &lt;br&gt; and with all nice markup (column sizes, fonts and colors) lost. &lt;br&gt; Solution was simple: do not use workbook method &amp;quot;set_properties&amp;quot;. &lt;br&gt; I consider it a bug in module, but still there&#39;s a workaround.

  Hi Richard, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Thanks, that indicates that the problem occurs when using &lt;br&gt; OLE::Storage_Lite for files less than 7MB. In general this only &lt;br&gt; happens in S::WE when set_properties() is in use. (It may be possible &lt;br&gt; that the error doesn&#39;t occur for files over 4k that use set_properties &lt;br&gt; () but that probably isn&#39;t worth testing).

  I run the 2.25 version under windows 2008 server x64 using Strawberry &lt;br&gt; Perl 5.8.x and it runs just fine, producing excel files that open &lt;br&gt; without issue...Have you tried the XP compatibility mode in Win 7?

A common cause of this on Windows is FTPing &lt;br&gt; a file in non binary mode. Check that the file size on the host system &lt;br&gt; is the same on the target system after it is transferred.

  Hi, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;There seems to be some undocumented limit on the hyperlinks in Excel. &lt;br&gt; I was able to reproduce this using Excel itself. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I doesn&#39;t appear to be a limit to the number of hyperlinks but &lt;br&gt; probably to the amount of apace and hence memory that they take up. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I can&#39;t see a workaround for this.

  Hi, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;For the last few months I have been overloaded with work and haven&#39;t &lt;br&gt; had any free time to develop WriteExcel or even to reply (promptly) to &lt;br&gt; questions. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;This probably won&#39;t change in the short term (although given the &lt;br&gt; current climate I may find myself with a lot of free time on my hands &lt;br&gt; at any time).

When I order &lt;br&gt; Excel to restore the image to the original size, then everything is &lt;br&gt; okay. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Since I prefer to update through cpan, I was wondering when will this
