You are correct. These type of "Rich Strings" (Excel's name for them)
aren't currently possible in S::WE. They are one of the higher
priority TODO items but I'm not getting any time to work on new

Hi,

There aren't any 64-bit Windows issues that I am aware of.

The "Unreadable Content" error is usually an indication that the file
is corrupted in some way. A common cause of this on Windows is FTPing
a file in non binary mode. Check that the file size on the host system
is the same on the target system after it is transferred.

Spreadsheet::WriteExcel is wonderful, thanks for the great work.

I've been asked to program something I don't think it can do, that is,
write text strings with intra-string formatting.

For example I'd like to put in text strings that are partly but not
completely underlined. In HTML-speak this might be, for example

Hey guys, has anyone tried making spreadsheets in a 64-bit environment
yet? I've encountered a problem. Let me describe:

I am using Office 2007, latest patches.
I am using Spreadsheet::WriteExcel 2.25.
I'm running Perl 5.10.

1) Generate a spreadsheet within a 32-bit Windows XP environment
2) Copy the spreadsheet to a 64-bit Windows 7 environment.

I have several png files that represent trends (up, down and no
change). They are 16px x 16px, Can they be centered using formats?
Currently they are flush left. Do I need to create the graphic as wide
as the column? Thge column width is 10 row height is 22.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the detailed report.

I think that there is probably more than one issue here but the basic
problem is that due to the merged ranges or cell borders the height of
the rows is different from their default and as a result WriteExcel
doesn't calculate the correct image height.

I've installed the new version 2.25.07, coming from 2.25. The problem
is still there, but smaller.

The excel sheet I'm working on contains 2 unscaled png files, that are
PHP-generated charts (bar and pie) with some text in the same font as

Hi,

There seems to be some undocumented limit on the hyperlinks in Excel.
I was able to reproduce this using Excel itself.

I doesn't appear to be a limit to the number of hyperlinks but
probably to the amount of apace and hence memory that they take up.

I can't see a workaround for this.

It is probably the same parser bug that you may have seen in other
posts here. Search for store_formula and see if that fix works for
you.

Hi,

This is a known (and admittedly frustrating) issue with the WriteExcel
formula parser. You can workaround it by massaging the parsed formula
as follows:

Hi,

For the last few months I have been overloaded with work and haven't
had any free time to develop WriteExcel or even to reply (promptly) to
questions.

This probably won't change in the short term (although given the
current climate I may find myself with a lot of free time on my hands
at any time).
