In a current project analysis, the Excel project file aborts the
computation process and advises that there is an error relatiing to
exceeding limits. An option is offered to debug or end. If I select
debug, a editor is opended that displays programming code. If I close
the editor, I am returnded back to the choice to end or debug. If I
select end, the SPOT project file jumps to a traditional spread sheet.
I assume that this is like a temp file to calculate the various
factors. I am unable to restore the SPOT visual interface screen. I
tried saving the file and reopening, but the project file opens
displaying the spread sheet.

This problem occurred when I extended hours from 8 to 18 with design
steps of 1 and analysis steps of 1. There are four lighting zones.

Please advise.

I have tried several variations with the tiem parameters to circumvent
the problem.

Using a different model, I was able to successfully run the analysis
using the values of 8,18,3 and 2 successfully, however when I use
these same parameters on the model where I had the initial problem,
the issue continues to be a problem.

Any thoughts?

For the problematic model, I was able to successfully run the
analysis
using the values of 8,18,3 and 3 successfully when I reduced the light
control zones from 4 to 1.

This limitation is probably an artificial limitation based on the
current programming setup.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Jerry,

There may be something permanently set wrong now in the initial project that had the problem.  One thing that may fix it, if you go back to the first geometry page and just make a small change, like changing the mullion reflectance by a 1%, this will cause the program to recalculate all the backup files it needs to run correctly.

Regards,
Zack
