Peter has asked that we sit on this for the time being, he's concerned
about where the additional entries can be launched & docked/stored.

He has indicated that the Miami Race Week would be a great venue. I
have lived and raced on Biscayne Bay for 11 years and can say its the
best small boat sailing venue in North America.

I have been contacted by a representative from Seawaniaka Corinthian
Yacht Club asking if we can get enough entries for 1 or 2 sport boat
sections this May 21-22 2005 at the new Jamie Boeckel Memorial Regatta.

Now is the time to speak up. We can begin now, write our own safety
rules allowing open sport boat design, KISS, simple PHRF rating and go
sailing.

Who can make it? How many will determine our sections breaks if any.
Lets show N.A. that we can organize and participate.

Who's up for it? Send your intention to race at this event and with
what design to; sport boat in...@yahoo.com

I don't understand your message. Who is Peter?

As for the Jamie Boeckel Memorial Regatta I would be somewhat
interested if I could trailer my boat and launch it with a hoist at
their club. Would this be available?

If this is going to be one of two "sanctioned" North American Sportboat
events, why have it so early in the year? I don't know about the rest
of the group but my boat is sitting high and dry waiting for the snow
soon to come from todays storm to melt. Why not have the regatta later
in the summer? Someone else can suggest the venue

We have been ivited to a regatta!! If there are 10 or more sport boats
in the area that are interested in racing please let me know. We still
need ot form an organization, this event just might be fun for SP that
are in the NE area.

I'll ask about launching. Get back to you soon.

This is a great start. im in. I am designing a form for Guy to use
for all the boats mentione.d in the meantime, get a regular IRC
rating. PHRf #'s differ too muh from region to region. an ir rating
is the best way to start this. I got mine yesterday .958. and i live
and sail in ny/long island

Agree. I can certainly get us a sportboat class at our Championship
Regatta @ CPYC - late summer

Rating system will be decided soon and I'm all for a measurement
system. If we use PHRF we as a group assign our own national phrf
ratings to be used in the mean time.

Sure - it would be easiest if yu could email me the list you already
have (people contacted/replies) so I don't try to solicit people you
have already approached
