2.       Water for a food secure world : Strategic Plan 2009- 2013 (IWMI 2009)

The Strategic Plan by International Water Management Institute (IWMI) shows how science and technology backed by socio economics can provide solutions to future water shortages and food crises. Four simple elements form the basis of IWMI’s plan and the new organizational structure.  It provides knowledge concerning how much water is available and how it is currently used, identifies ways in which water can be used more  productively in both irrigated and rainfed agriculture,  identification and mitigation of risks to human health, food production and the environment from land degradation and associated declining water quality and waster water use.

4.       Climate Change Adaptation : Enabling people living in poverty to adapt .(Oxfam,2009)
The paper seeks to bring together knowledge from Oxfam's work on livelihoods, natural resource management, and disaster risk reduction to
show what can work for adaptation to various climate hazards. It seek to locate the approach within a vulnerability context, whereby differentiated vulnerability is analysed and acted upon, prioritising the needs of the communities and individuals most vulnerable to climate change with national approaches to adaptation.

5.       Pro-poor intervention strategies in irrigated agriculture: lessons from the Asian experience (IWMI, 2007)
This International Water Management Institute (IWMI) report looks at how irrigated agriculture has contributed greatly to food security in Asia -
and irrigation projects present new opportunities for reducing poverty - if they can be tilted towards the poor. (IWMI, 2007)

6.       Building climate resilience in the agriculture sector of Asia and the Pacific:
This report discusses building climate change resilience into the agriculture sector in Asia  and the Pacific. The nexus between climate change and agriculture and formidable barriers to achieving sustainable development are the themes of the study. It uses predictions of global climate models to develop scenarios to 2050 for Asia and to derive implications for food security. It also recommends cost-effective adaptation responses. The Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Security Unit of the Region and Sustainable Development Department (RSDD) of Asian Development Bank (ADB) coordinated the study and preparation of the report was led by International Food Policy and Research Institute (IFRI).

7.       The State of the World's Children 2009: Maternal and Newborn Health (UNICEF, 2009)
The State of the World's Children 2009 examines the current state of maternal and neonatal health, explores the fundamentals of a supportive
environment for mothers and newborns, and outlines ways to strengthen efforts in support of primary health care. The report highlights the
importance of establishing a continuum of maternal and newborn care framework and the imperative of strengthening health systems and working
together. Africa and Asia are key focus of this report, which complements the previous year's issue on child survival
