Thanks Helder. I should have mentioned that I am using Speedcrunch on Windows 7, so not sure if those Linux-based tips will apply.

The tips won't apply, but the fix likely will. Unfortunately, you'll
have to wait until the next version gets released as I can't provide
you a Windows test executable ATM.
Out of curiosity, do other applications get the focus when you launch
them via keyboard shortcut?
