Hello all,
With the native Windows installer in the TPP 4.0.x series, a version of the Perl language was installed automatically if an appropriate one was not found. We've found that there is a much better solution than for us than to try to maintain our own custom Windows Perl installation, which will ensure that TPP users have access to the most complete and updated version of perl.
For the upcoming TPP 4.1 release and beyond, users will be required to download and install ActivePerl, from a company called ActiveState. Due to the ActivePerl licensing, we are unable to bundle and install ActivePerl in the TPP installer, so you must do this manually. The TPP 4.1 installer will give a warning if ActivePerl isn't found on your system.
I suggest installed ActivePerl
5.8.8. This version of ActivePerl will cleanly install over the custom TPP 4.0.x perl, which was installed to C:\perl. T
he 5.10 installer won't overwrite a previous TPP 4.0.x perl installation.
ActivePerl can be downloaded from ActiveState(
