As previously mentioned, from TPP 4.1 forward, the Windows version of the TPP requires that you install the perl language from ActiveState, called ActivePerl.  ActivePerl version 5.8 is recommended, as it will cleanly overwrite the TPP 4.0.x's custom version of perl which might have been installed, while ActivePerl version 5.10 will not.  ActivePerl can be downloaded from ActiveState(http://www.activestate.com) here-- note that you are not required to enter any contact information:   http://www.activestate.com/store/download.aspx?prdGUID=81fbce82-6bd5-49bc-a915-08d58c2648ca

Sorry for any confusion; I should have mentioned this again in the TPP release notes yesterday.

Please see the message copied below for more details.

Hello all,

With the native Windows installer in the TPP 4.0.x series, a version of the Perl language was installed automatically if an appropriate one was not found.  We've found that there is a much better solution than for us than to try to maintain our own custom Windows Perl installation, which will ensure that TPP users have access to the most complete and updated version of perl.

For the upcoming TPP 4.1 release and beyond, users will be required to download and install ActivePerl, from a company called ActiveState.  Due to the ActivePerl licensing, we are unable to bundle and install ActivePerl in the TPP installer, so you must do this manually.  The TPP 4.1 installer will give a warning if ActivePerl isn't found on your system.

I suggest installed ActivePerl 5.8.8.  This version of ActivePerl will cleanly install over the custom TPP 4.0.x perl, which was installed to C:\perl.  The 5.10 installer won't overwrite a previous TPP 4.0.x perl installation.
