Thank you for the help, but unfortunately after reading the blog and the
ReadMe document I have still not resolved the problem.

Hopefully this issue is resolved, this is a great piece of software.

Hi,

Charlie's announcement of Spanning Sync 3.0 beta was not in response
to your issue. I've given you instructions on how to resolve your
issue in your original thread post.

Thanks,

Byron

Although that would have been incredible customer service! Have a
problem? We'll crank out a major revision of the software in three
minutes! :-)

Ha ha! Indeed it would!

Charlie, kudos on the latest release, I cannot believe how quickly the
sync runs now.

One little comment - I end up with 2 addresses for each contact (where
an address exists in the first place) in address book and 2 contacts
in gmail for every one in address book. Have any other users
experienced this?

I have some duplicated addresses in my contacts so we should have
enough data here to find the problem. (And as it turns out, Contact
Cleaner doesn't fix this problem, but I've added it to our to-do
list.)

Thanks,
Charlie

Does it sync groups?

No, syncing contact groups didn't make the cut for this release but
it's still on the list. We're interested to know how many people would
find this helpful, so everyone please let us know if you would.

Thanks,
Charlie

I would love contact groups to sync

Is their something I need to do in order to activate birthday
syncing? I have 3.0 but no birthdays are showing up in google.

Oh, goodness, yes, please! (When you get a chance - it's not a huge
thing for me, but I would love to have it.)

Add me to the list of votes for group syncing. This would be near the
top of the priority list for me, because of the impact of Group
membership on Google Voice. In Voice, a contact's membership in a
group determines how a call is handled - you set a per-group default
on which phones a call is routed to, what greeting they receive in
voicemail, etc. Right now, I need to keep the structure in both my
Address Book and in Google Voice manually - group syncing would let me
do it only once.

BTW: Google is reportedly starting to open up Google Voice for
invitations - I highly recommend it if you have a mobile lifestyle.

Dave-

Interesting--thanks. That certainly gives more weight to the idea of
group syncing.

Thanks,
Charlie

Add me to the list of those that are very interested in seeing
Spanning Sync support syncing of contact groups!

Yes to syncing contact groups. Going to be more important with Google
Voice.

Yes, please !!! This is the only missing feature that make me hesitate
to jump from trial to unlimited licence ...

I just (re)installed Spanning Sync yesterday, so I have still 14 days
to hesitate ... :D

I agree with Dave. Also, for the same reason, it would be extremely
handy to be able to sync both a Google Apps Account and Google
Account. I realize there is a work-around for calendars to make it
appear as if this is what you are doing, but the same work-around does
not exist for contacts. I have to maintain two sets of contacts.

I am in the same situation as Ben. 1 set of contacts for Google Apps
and another for Gmail/Google Voice. Like the others, Google voice is
my driver making multiple account syncing and groups my top
priorities.

I too would like to see Groups sync implemented. This would make
things infinitely better, especially atop all the other improvements
in API v.3. I am a Google Voice user as well.

As far as I'm concerned that is really the one missing feature.
Thanks

me too.

I joined just to toss my hat on this. I must have groups working as
well. While everyone here is mentioned Google Voice as the catalyst
(which makes sense), my catalyst is OS X itself. Since everything ties
into the Address Book, I have tons of groups for specific purposes,
such as Billings (for the software app Billings), Screen Names for use
in iChat, Reunion Peeps which is a listing of classmates for my
upcoming reunion. All of these groups need to be on my Macs for OS X
purposes, but only a select few are synced to my iPhone. The ability
to keep this grouping is very very important to me, and is pretty much
the sole reason I keep my MobileMe subscription (even though Apple
completely missed the boat on OTA syncing since it also doesn't allow
selective groups to sync, its all or nothing).
