Great while it lasted

Hey,

I just wanted to say thanks, and that Spanning Sync is a great
product. It was great to use during the beta test. I am,
unfortunately, a supporter of open source or free software, and am
discouraged to see that you will be requiring purchase. From my
development experience I find that people respond much more positively
to products where payment is optional and much appreciated.

Spanning Sync lets me use one free product with another free product
and costs $25/year. That seems a bit steep.

I refuse to do subscription but $65 is way too much money considering
the fact that other cheaper options are probably coming down the pike
(at least as far as meeting my needs).

I love the product when it works but there is just too much risk to
warrant such a high price.

Thanks for the note. We're supporters of Open Source software too, and
use much of it in our server operations. We've decided that we
appreciate the efforts of the developers so much that we've made
monetary contributions to them, sometimes in excess of what commercial
alternatives cost. That being said, we've chosen a commercial service
model for Spanning Sync based on our industry experience.

Thanks for using the beta and helping us test our service. And thanks
for the kind words--they're much appreciated too.
