I upgraded to 10.5.1, and on reboot got an error message from Spanning
Sync 1.1.2, saying that multiple calendars were not going to be
synced. I then upgraded to 1.1.3 (thinking this was an update designed
to solve this problem). Now Spanning Sync is perpetually stuck at
'Syncing...'.

I can't help feeling that 'is compatible with OS X 10.5' on the
webpage is rather an overstatement, notwithstanding the more accurate
statements elsewhere.

I am running 10.5.1 with Spanning Sync syncing 4 iCal calendars to 4
Google calendars without any problem. I do have one issue where
Spanning Sync crashes on login sometimes, but doesn't always occur.

OK, it seems it works for me too..... eventually. Each sync is taking
around 8 minutes. Since I have it set to sync every 10 minutes, this
gives the impression of never finishing. I haven't worked out what
subset of the data actually makes it to Google yet.

Mine gives no error messages, but iCal and gCal are still out of
sync. I've tried resetting iSync and SpanningSync (1.1.3) twice now,
and it has not changed. However, at one point I thought that my
iPod's calendar was matching gCal rather than iCal, but that is no
longer the case. It also is missing items on gCal.

I do have .Mac set to sync calendars. Should I turn that feature off?

Also, I just looked at my console and I get a bunch of messages when
SpanningSync runs that look like this:

11/15/07 4:40:42 PM com.apple.syncservices.SyncServer[412] 2007-11-15
16:40:42.711 iCalExternalSync[456:10b] [ICalExternalSync ]NSException
name:ISyncInvalidRecordException reason:you referenced the following
records (in a relationship) but did not actually push them: (
11/15/07 4:40:42 PM com.apple.syncservices.SyncServer[412]
"node_BirthdayCalendar/p1"

I do have a Birthday calendar in iCal but I do not have it set to sync
to gCal.

After several 8-minute syncs, SS is working normally for me once more,
i.e. syncing in 10 seconds or so and normal
(non-repeating) events from ical are correctly making it into my
google calendar.

Sorry for being so excitable.

Just to follow up, I had submitted a report and heard back from
Spanning Sync that it was the subscription to birthdays from my
address book that might be causing the problem. I stopped the
subscription ("Show birthdays calendar" in the General preference
pane) and, sure enough, everything is now syncing perfectly.

We've heard from several users that disabling the Address Book
birthdays calendar clears up various problems. Strange but true.

Thanks,
Charlie

It's true! When I disabled the birthday calendar, suddenly hidden
appointments appear! I can't believe!

I too am using SS 1.1.3 and OS X 10.5.1 with no problems and on
multiple calendars.
