I upgraded to 1.1.2 and the sync is taking a god awful amount of time.
WIll it ever end? Should I press "Cancel"?

Best not - I did that and just had to restart the thing off again...

Did you need to wait the same, interminable, amount of time in the
subsequent sync as well?

I've not got that far with 1.1.2 and Leopard yet :(

Tiger and 1.1.0 worked totally transparently, but this upgrade has
been a nightmare.

I am having similar results. Syncing under 1.1.2 is literally taking
hours. Have yet to make it through one entire sync. I also seem to
be losing free space on my HD during the sync.

Same here... upgraded to 1.1.2 and went off to sync. I let it work for
30 minutes without any feedback of success. I figured Spanning Sync's
central server was down. I tried again this morning and now tonight.
My final solution is just turning it off. It makes me very happy that
I plunked down money for a service that continues to have issues it
can't resolve in over a week. I'm really glad I never upgraded to
lifetime.

I was about to try again this morning (see my saga in the '1.1.1 then
1.1.2' thread), but from what you and 'gravescp' have said, it doesn't
seem worth it.

I'm going to wait for a 1.1.3 version, or some definitive set of
instructions on what to do.

@gravescp,
If the disk is still 'missing' after a reboot, it sounds like your
spotlight database has grown (/.Spotlight-V100). The only way I've
found to get that space back is rebuilding spotlight (easiest way:
move your HD into the 'privacy' tab in spotlight, wait a minute or so,
then move the disk back out of the 'privacy' tab and let spotlight re-
index).

Just to be clear, everyone is on Leopard?

I'm one of the many frustrated ... but I'm still on Tiger.

I didn't get a chance to use 1.1.2 on Tiger, I used 1.0.5 and that
worked fine.

I have had more success today. I have been able to sync my
calendars. It is taking much longer than it did under Tiger, and I am
getting some event repeats. I think there are some bugs still with
1.1.2 and leapord.

I started syncing last night around 23.00 and today after moren than
12 hours is still syncing.
I'm on tiger and wih the revious versione never took more than 1 hour
to sync :(

I'm on Tiger with 1.1.1, and I'm wondering what the reason to go to
1.1.2 would be since things seem to be fine right now for my single
computer setup. (I haven't yet tried to put another computer in the
mix, because that other computer has multiple users.)

I think that 1.1.2 was brought out to fix Leopard issues. If you're
working fine now, my advice would be not to change anything. Like I've
said in other threads, everything was fine (read totally transparent!)
under Tiger. It's only with Leopard that some people are having
problems (me being one of them).

Cheers,
Tone

I'll be posting a more complete message with information about 1.1.2
and remaining issues, but let m ay here that 1.1.2 was brought out to
address bugs in 1.1.1, specifically large syncs timing out and
therefore never completing, and syncs retrying immediately after every
failure, which could result in an infinite loop and therefore very
high CPU, memory, and disk usage.

1.1.2 is a very important upgrade and we urge everyone to use it.

That being said, we're still seeing strange results from Sync Services
and iCal, some of which have been posted by other people here. When I
post the more complete note later today on the state of Spanning Sync,
I'll go into more detail.

Regards,
Charlie

Are you running v1.1.2? If not, please download it from
http://spanningsync.com/download. It addresses the "syncing forever"
problem.

Thanks,
Charlie

Sorry to say that v1.1.2 doesn't seem to have affected the forever
sync issue at all for my machine. I'm running 10.4 and the issue is
still there. My only solution has been to just turn the program off.

The thing about all this that really pisses me off if that I
specifically held back from upgrading to Leopard to wait until bugs
were ironed out. I would expect bugs in something like Spanning Sync
after a major software upgrade like Tiger.

But those of us who are still running Tiger should NOT have been
bothered with all this. We should have had the software and service
maintained AS-IS until all this Leopard crap was sorted out.

Mee too! I am on 10.4.10 and v1.1.2 broke my syncing, which now goes
on for about anhour without completing and then aborts. Tried to e-
mail support but did not get any solution.

Have to add a me-too to this. I left it synching when I went to work
this morning and it still hasn't finished 16 hours later. This is
after a reset which I thought had been successful.
