Feature Suggestion: delay sync on bootup by five minutes or so

When I'm booting up my computer, spanning sync tries to do a sync
while many other processes are loading up. It'd be nice if there was
an option to delay the initial sync by five minutes or so, because it
slows down the boot up. What do you think?
