Contact image degraded quality

I have attached user photos to all of my contacts in AddressBook but
once they sync to Google through SS the quality is lowered, but if I
use the native Google sync the quality is normal, is there a fix for
this?

I've noticed this too. Does the Address Book use a lower-resolution
image than Google?
