Deleted item google->iCal

I sync'd for the first time...excellent job! This does what I'd like
for it to do. I was in Google messing with the calendar entries and
changed the calendar (I have multiple) the event is associated with
(say, changed the event from a "birthday" to a "business" calendar).
I sync'd and rather than changing the calendar in iCal, the event was
merely DELETED. When I re-synced, no new event was made to take its
place though the event stays on Google.

Anything that can be done? How can I go about changing calendar
assignments away from iCal? And why aren't the calendars syncing this
item that now only exists in google, not on iCal (two-sync is enabled
for all my calendars). Thank you!
