to Spanning Sync
I just starting using Spanning Sync today to sync my iCal with Google
Calendar. Everything went smoothly except for one major problem. In
iCal, I have a mixture of events where the "show as" field is set to
either "Free" or "Busy". After syncing for the first time, however,
the same event does not seem to have this same information. It seems
all events synced from iCal -> Google Calendar are set to a default of
"Busy". Does Spanning Sync not support the ability to sync the status
of each event?

Hi,
Apple Sync Services doesn't currently support syncing this information
for calendar events. They have a "status" property but its only
possible values are tentative, confirmed, cancelled, or none. You can
find the full description of what Apple Sync Services supports here:
