How do I make my google and ical calendars writeable for cross syncing?

I get messages on my calendars that they won't sync both ways. This is
WHY I bought spanning sync.

Hi Matthew,

What are the calendar types that you're trying to sync? All local
iCal calendars will sync bi-directionally. If you're trying to sync
CalDAV/Exchange calendars, Apple only allows one-way sync to Google
for those calendar types.
