Welcome to the SpaceNet Community hosted by Google groups. The goal of this group is to foster communication between users and cooperate development efforts on SpaceNet, an open source software environment for analyzing space exploration logistics.

Space logistics is an emerging topic as humanity takes the leap from single exploration missions to intricately-linked exploration campaigns. Just as extensive planning was necessary for Earth-based explorations to dangerous environments like the Arctic and Antarctic, the future of human space exploration will require extensive logistical planning for success. Even today we are seeing the importance of logistics in supporting the International Space Station (ISS) - the years to come will require a host of launch vehicles, both government and commercial, representing the interests of many nations, launched from different corners of the world.

SpaceNet has been developed by the MIT Strategic Engineering Research Group with additional support from the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
