Favorite thing to do during the summer in SLU

One of the best things about Seattle is the summers we have, and I
would say one of the major reasons to live in South Lake Union is the
variety of outdoor activities that are available without even having
to leave the city. What are your favorite things to do during the
summer in SLU (or in it's general proximity)?

[Daniel]

My wife and I moved to SLU from Orlando last year, and we really
enjoyed some of the time we spent out on Lake Union. We did some
kayaking last summer and it was great. Tim took us sailing a month or
so ago, and so I can very feasibly see us doing a LOT more of that
this summer. Additionally, cycling around the lake is a great past-
time, as is just walking down to the water.
