Good Afternoon,

Just in case you were looking for some place to give back to our community, here are some county volunteer positions that are open.  (And just in case you folks who live outside the City limits but inside the Urban Growth Boundary - you can volunteer for City committees as well.)

Richard

Benton County seeks volunteers for committees

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Benton County Board of Commissioners is seeking community members to fill vacancies on a variety of panels that impact county services.

In all there are 18 advisory boards, commissions and committees and members may serve up to two consecutive terms. Members are appointed by the Board of Commissioners to fill vacancies, which have set terms. Openings exist on the following boards:

·         Board of Property Tax Appeals;

·         Emergency Medical;

·         Environmental Issues;

·         Food Service;

·         Historic Resources;

·         Mental Health, Addictions and Developmental Disabilities (specifically seeking representatives of mental health, addictions and developmental disabilities services);

·         Public Health Planning (openings for one resident, a health care practitioner and one high school student); and

·         Solid Waste and Disposal Site (seeking representatives from Adair Village, Albany and Monroe).

Members are unpaid volunteers who devote numerous hours of their time to these community activities. Participation on county boards and commissions involves citizens directly in local government in an impactful way and provides the Board of Commissioners with timely input on important issues. Benton County values cultural diversity and seeks to include broad representation on all boards and committees.
