Just in case anyone on the list would like to help the County work out polices and plans for riparian and wetlands areas, here is a notice of a call for candidates for a new Benton county advisory body.

The Benton County Riparian and Wetlands Project is currently looking for Advisory Group members from a variety of stakeholder and technical perspectives. Interested County residents should contact Adam Stebbins(adam.s...@co.benton.or.us ; 541-766-6085). Please pass this along to others that you know may be interested.

The Community Development Department of Benton County, with review by the Benton County Board of Commissioners, will select the Advisory Group. Meetings will be open to the public so that even people not formally included on the Advisory Group can stay involved. Landowners with the local, on-the-ground, streamside and wetland rich property are encouraged to volunteer to help us shape this project .

Here’s the deal: Forget that this task of planet-saving is not possible in the time required.  Don’t be put off by people who know what is not possible.  Do what needs to be done, and check to see if it was impossible only after you are done. – Paul Hawken
