Hello,
I'm trying to create test environment on Sonic-VS with `DellEMC-S5248f-P-10G` as a testing model.
Using 202205 Sonic branch.

Configuring VS to act as DellEMC-S5248f-P-10G:

sonic-cfggen -H -k DellEMC-S5248f-P-10G --preset l1 > /etc/sonic/config_db.json
reboot

show platform summary
Platform: x86_64-kvm_x86_64-r0
HwSKU: DellEMC-S5248f-P-10G
ASIC: vs
ASIC Count: 1
Serial Number: N/A
Model Number: N/A
Hardware Revision: N/A

The problem is that it seems Sonic is not mapping VM interfaces to switchports correctly.
VM has 3 network interfaces so according to lanemap.ini second and third VM interface should be mapped to ports Ethernet0 and Ethernet1 accordingly. But these ports are shown as down:
Interface            Lanes       Speed    MTU    FEC            Alias    Vlan    Oper    Admin    Type    Asym PFC
-----------  ---------------  ----------  -----  -----  ---------------  ------  ------  -------  ------  ----------
  Ethernet0               49         10G   9100    N/A     tenGigE1/1/1  routed    down       up     N/A         N/A
  Ethernet1               50         10G   9100    N/A     tenGigE1/1/2  routed    down       up     N/A         N/A

Also for some reason Ehternet35 is shown as up:

show interfaces status Ethernet35
Interface    Lanes       Speed    MTU    FEC         Alias    Vlan    Oper    Admin    Type    Asym PFC
-----------  -------  ----------  -----  -----  ------------  ------  ------  -------  ------  ----------
 Ethernet35       32  4294967.3G   9100    N/A  tenGigE1/9/4  routed      up       up     N/A         N/A

If Ethernet0 or Ethernet1 are given an IP address, it is not reacheable.
If I add IP address to Ethernet35 - it could be reached.

I guess there's something with vswitch configuration, but I'm not sure where to start debugging this.
Appreciate any help.
Thank you.

I must add that with different hardware like Force10-S6000 ports are working. I can see 2 ports in Up state and network configuration works.

Hi ,

For sonic-vs, 2 hardware SKUs are supported ( Force10-S6000 , brcm_gearbox_vs).

Please refer  https://github.com/sonic-net/sonic-buildimage/tree/master/device/virtual/x86_64-kvm_x86_64-r0  and README.md

Thanks

Chitra
