Why do some venues not have lat/long coordinates attached?

I run a website that uses these coordinates to map venues, and recently some of the coordinates have been off, changed, or removed entirely from the Songkick database.

 

For example, the lat/lng coordinates for the Marquee Theatre and The School of Rock in Tempe, Arizona, USA have been switched or are not present. And in Denver, none of the main venues (The Ogden, The Fillmore) have no coordinates being sent out either.

 

I was wondering the cause for this, and why some of the coordinates have been changed or deleted.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting! We'll investigate it, as it looks like a bug in
the geolocation system.

Hi again,

There was indeed a bug where some venues were missing lat/lng
information. It has now been fixed.

Hi Jason,

What do you mean when you say "jobs"? Do you mean "venues"?

New venues get added to the Songkick database everyday, from all over
the world. Sometimes, our sources don't have the full address
information, so that means we can't automatically geolocate those
venues. That's the reason not all venues have latitude and longitude.
