At the request of the CIty, I am extending the following invitation to Somerville dog owners to attend one of four upcoming visioning sessions.  The City wants to hear from residents about what they like about Somerville today (hint: off-leash recreational areas!) and what they hope to see in the future.

Thank you for helping to make Somerville a great place where we can all live with our dogs!

Cheers,
Michele

Subject: Upcoming Citywide Visioning Sessions

To All,

I wanted to invite you to attend one of four upcoming visioning sessions where we will host a dialog on the future of Somerville.  The visioning sessions are part of the City’s efforts to prepare a Comprehensive Plan that helps us prepare for the upcoming Green Line Extension, Orange Line Station at Assembly Square, and to anticipate and plan for other change around the City.  The purpose of the sessions is to engage community members in an active discussion about what they like about Somervilletoday and what they hope to see in the future.

The meeting will be a “World Café” which is a facilitated type of discussion that will allow people to share their views in a constructive, collaborative way so that a common vision of the future is created at the end.  We will have graphic recorders that show people visually in the room how their comments come together to paint a picture of the future.

We hope you will be available to attend one of these sessions.  The format for all of the meetings is the same, we are just offering different locations and date/times to try to reach the broadest group of people possible.  The meetings will:

o       Tuesday, Dec 1st, Argenziano School, 290 Washington Street
o       Wednesday, Dec 9th, Holiday Inn, 30 Washington Street
o       Wednesday, Dec 16th, TAB Building, 167 Holland Street
o       Tuesday, Jan 5th, Armory, 191 Highland Avenue

Please RSVP regarding when you are available.  Space will be limited and we will need to get a count of attendees.  You can RSVP to 617-625-6600 x 2500 orsomer...@somervillema.gov

Please forward this information to anyone you believe might be interested in participating!  Attached is a flyer and poster about the upcoming meetings.

Thanks,
Monica
