What better way to celebrate the official statement from the National
Park Service (NPS) that off-leash recreation is a legitimate
recreational use of public open space than with a little community
service!
The Somerville Dog Owners Group invites everyone who loves our dog
parks to come to our park clean up at Nunziato Field tomorrow,
Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.!

For our clean up tomorrow, the Somerville Department of Public Works
will be providing some fresh stone dust as well as a wheelbarrow and
shovels so that we can fill in holes in the surface of the off-leash
recreational area. There are also a lot of leaves to rake!
The clean up will also be an opportunity to talk about improvements to
the OLRA and to start brainstorming about raising money for
improvements.
Local businesses are donating refreshments for volunteers. Atelier
Pilates, Boston Paintball, Pet Spa and Union Square Chiropractic are
all chipping in to provide refreshments and there will be cupcakes
from Kickass Cupcakes!
Please make other arrangements for your dogs: dogs are not allowed in
the field adjacent to the off-leash recreational area.
